OK friends.  I am old enough to be grandmother to most of you, so I’m going to give you my stern grandmother stare and tell you that I want you to stop posting and laughing at gifs for the few minutes it will take you to go and make a donation - now, before midnight.  Stop dawdling and just go do it. 

I want you all ON my lawn - working and laughing with me and harvesting great things from this garden we are cultivating together.  I want you to inherit great soil and responsible practices so you and your kids, my kids and grandkids - and their grandkids have a beautiful, sustainable future.

No one is perfect.  I am pissed about the approval for drilling in the Arctic and a few other things.  But the alternative won’t stop that.  The alternative would be exploiting more beloved federal lands.  The alternative is much worse for more things we care about.  I’m not perfect.  You aren’t either.  But together, we can help each other become better.  Together we do still have hope.

So please, go donate.  Give up a pizza and a beer.  Give up Starbucks for a week.  Don’t hesitate.  I know you.  You’ll keep reading Tumber and forget and suddenly it will be 1:00am.  So stop and just do it now.   And I’ll go make you some chocolate chip cookies.
