Jennifer Livingston, a news anchor in La Crosse, Wisconsin, received this email from a male viewer:

It’s unusual that I see your morning show, but I did so for a very short time today. I was surprised indeed to witness that your physical condition hasn’t improved for many years.

Surely you don’t consider yourself a suitable example for this community’s young people, girls in particular. Obesity is one of the worst choices a person can make and one of the most dangerous habits to maintain. I leave you this note hoping that you’ll reconsider your responsibility as a local public personality to present and promote a healthy lifestyle.

The video above is her response to the email. It’s beautiful.

One Down, Seven More To Go

Today, organizers will file the paperwork to recall the first of the Republican eight: Dan Kapanke (La Crosse)!  Grassroots organizers collected more than 20,000 signatures in a mere 27 days, making it the fastest recall in Wisconsin history.  The grassroots group will turn in the signatures they’ve collected (at 3:30 p.m., 212 E. Wash in Madison if you want to witness history), and the Government Accountability Board will have 31 days to review them.  Kapanke can challenge any of the signatures during the first 10 days.  Kapanke said earlier this month that the recall efforts would not deter him from standing with the governor and voting to ban collective bargaining.
